Clip Art

Occasionally this foursome likes to flex their creative muscles. Actually, I like to make them flex their creative muscles and they obligingly play along.

The name of the game... The Highlowaha Target Bin Challenge.

I randomly select an item from the Target $1 Bin and then present Cheryl, Katie, and Heather with their own package/set. The three women have two weeks to decide on a use for the item and to add their own creative flair. I post pictures of all three entries and Highlowaha readers decide which you like most. The winner gets a modest treat... when I remember.

This month I decided I'd play along, though my name will not appear on the ballot. I title my entry... Shine-o-gram $1.00.

White box, simply decorated...
Anticipation...
A short teaser...
Pull clip #1 to discover...
the full Thanksgiving message.
Forty-four and still making refrigerator art for my mother!
How did the other three use their fall colored clips from Target's Dollar Bin?

Idea #1: Marking pages to be quickly referenced in my fall magazines.
Idea #2: Organization by colors
Idea #3: Farmer Orange
Place your vote. Which will it be? Idea #1, Idea #2, or Idea #3?

And if all those pictures weren't enough and you're still looking for more, watch my 33-second video to find out what I got for my birthday!

Signing off until tomorrow...

That is either one small camera or one large cupcake! Can we inquire as to where you got the cupcake? It's a nice idea.

Can I be rude and ask for help on something simple but fun to celebrate my daughter's 18th? I've got 60 days from today... She's expecting an eviction notice so she'd be fairly thrilled with anything. LOL

I was thinking of doing a memory countdown, 18 days before with a great memory from each year - one per day. But what else could I do?

Robin that is so not rude!!!

But, I'll have to think on some good ideas for you. Give me a few hours.

As far as the camera you guessed it...one small camera. The Flip Mini, super small and a totally great concept (the USB is inside the camera so you just "flip" it out and plug it directly into your computer). It is actually the same thing we use to film on each week and I'm excited for Claudia to get to see how fun they are to use for something other than our weekly film.

Robin... I too will be back with ideas for your daughter's 18. I will think about it on my drive to work this morning.

In the meantime... I found the Hidden Cupcake at Hobby Lobby for only $9.99 (less the 40% off coupon). But, if you click on the words Hidden Cupcake in the text of yesterday's post, you will see it links to the website where they tell how to order one.

Tell me if you want/need me to pick one up for you. There were still a few on the shelf last I checked.

My mini camera? LOVE IT. Grandma and Grandpa New York are going to love it too!

A great birthday idea. We have a flip camera too. I love it. We use it for the boys school performances. Good idea Richard.
Starbucks card is a good idea too - it's so cold in Chicago. There might be snow this weekend - yikes

Farmer Orange gets my vote. They are all super cut though

I love it- a flip camera! I'll be getting one soon hopefully. And Starbucks...still not as good as coffee via Richard.

Robin, I will think about your daughter's birthday today and send some ideas your way.

Have a great day, HLA!

NICE! Now what I really want to know is if you uploaded that video yourself!! :)

Starbucks is always a good gift.

Robin- I love the idea of the Countdown. Could the theme of her birthday be Memory Lane? And I need more details... are you going to just have a family celebration, are you including her friends, is this a party or a gift idea?

I vote for #2.

This isn't really a gift, but on my 18th birthday my mom wrote me a nice letter about what I was like growing up and her feelings as I got older and wasn't a kid anymore. I have it saved and read it every once in a while. I think it means even more to me now that I am a mom.

ANother thing you could do would be a "favorite things" celebration. Watch her favorite movie, eat a favorite snacks, and so on.

Some of you may recall that I posted a challenge on my Facebook page on October 1st to vote for the Caterpillar in this months Cookie Cutter Challenge.

I just had my friend, Buffy, from upstairs pull the winning name and Jessie Freeman you are the winner of a piece of art created by me.

Will you send me an email at cherylopry@gmail.com? I have a couple of questions for you. Thanks!

#3... altho I also really liked the pull out magnet.

Some really good idea's with the clips. I think I will vote for number 3 because I can do that and keep my nephew and niece occupied when they come to visit in December.
How exciting for your flip camera! We have a camcorder and can you believe we have only used it 3-4 times! I was surprised when Jon bought it because we have nothing to tape...oh well, one day when we have kids I'm sure it will come in handy!

I like the magazine book mark... it either rains or poors with magazines around here! I was caught up, and then in the last day or so.... wham, three magazines. I've been trying to skim through and then go back and pull out good ideas or recipes the 2nd time around.

Darn, Cheryl! Even though I wanted the Owl, I would have voted for the caterpillar if I thought it could get me one step closer to a piece of your art!
