Our First Hundred Days

As I went to post today's blog I realized it will be the 100th post under the new format, four writers strong. It seems somewhat serendipitous then that this is the last post under this format before we change over to the new structure as Claudia described on Tuesday (Claudia writing Monday-Thursday, Friday serving as our Free For All Video and Saturday allowing each of us to take the reigns once a month). Like the President, our first 100 days have allowed us to refine our strategy, develop a more deliberate approach, and learn the ropes. Now that we have determined our course of action you can bet that great things are bound to happen.

With all that said, here's this week's Free For All Friday...

So what are your thoughts? Free for all the "Pounding Party" and let us know if you are in for a Dine by Design party and what theme you might choose.

As always I'll start.
How about "Pound for Pound the best friend around!"
Dine by Design I'm still contemplating and will have to think about it more today and check back in later.

Also, you may have spotted a new feature on the right side of the blog. It's called "Surprise Me"! If you click on this it will take you to a random post within our blog. This can provide you with a blast from the past or maybe a fresh idea that you've forgotten about! Check it out and enjoy!

See you all on twitter! (www.twitter.com/raywattson)

Signing off until tomorrow...

Wow, thats a lot to take in today...or maybe its just too early and I havent yet had my coffee! ;-)

Dine by Design...Ill have to really think on that, if I could make that happen or not. But possible themes I might choose:
spring, with lots of pretty flowers
paris
coffee
of course these would all have to be mastered into a slogan of some sort!

POUND...if I think of anything after my coffee, Ill come back and let ya know! Im off to work!

Another great video, Ladies! It seems like all of you are becoming more comfortable on camera.

Here are a couple of "pound" slogans off the top of my head.
"My heart pounds for you"
"An ounce of love is worth a pound of knowledge" -John Wesley

Ooohh... two great pieces of input already today!

Cassie P. You could have SO much fun with a Paris themed party. I'm picturing an Eiffel Tower centerpiece done up to look beautiful.

The gathering could be a small tea with baguettes of bread and jam. Each friend could have a fun french name and place cards might be small (computer printed) replicas of great French artists.

I say do it. How about connecting up some of your college and family friends with some of your new work friends? It can be a great way for new acquaintences to quickly get a sense of what "Cassie" is really all about. Your bound to impress the heck out of them!

KAt... I love the quote as a saying to include on the apron. Great suggestion!

I like the vid format! (It's a little tough to hear everything, but I got most of it.)

Speaking of the Spirit of 218... have we helped any families yet, and how much is currently in our 218 account? Just curious.

I'll have to think on the "pound" thing...

So many things...

I love the Surprise Me Button! (Thanks for the suggestion Margaret! It's reader input like that that makes our community so great.)

And, I love that you we have the new and old blog all in one place now! All your favorites are back!!!

I said "My Heart Pounds for [enter grooms name]" so keep 'em coming so Angie has a lot to choose from.

Dine by Design. I'm still on for my Under the Sea theme Pool Party. Put your bathing suit on Claudia!!! :)

Currently Sept. 12 is in the lead for Taste of USA and voting will be open until next Tuesday. And, there's nothing I can do that will persuade you to come... I'll have to ponder this.

Brian,
We have only granted one memory thus far but have enough in our account to grant at least one if not two more.
We are always on the lookout for nominations so send them our way.

I second what Brian said about the volume. You tend to trail off at the end of thoughts.

I'll have to think about the Dine by Design thing. I may be able to do something with my new staff once I get in there. It wouldn't be really soon, but maybe during training or something.

I'm not sure about the pound thing...let me think about it!

Thanks for the feedback on our volume...we'll work on that for next week.
Also, if I remember correctly the fan was on right over the camera so perhaps we'll be certain to turn that off next week.

Hello!

Just as a heads up, because I think someone asked last week- the dog's name is Mayday! We made sure to acknowledge her presence this week thanks to your feedback from last week! Now, we need to work on volume!

As for pounds- I was thinking something like "worth every pound". I was thinking of the saying, 'worth every penny'.

As Cheryl mentioned, the 'Surprise Me' button is thanks to a suggestion from Margaret! Keep the feedback and ideas coming- we'd love to keep incorporating new gadgets on the blog!!!

Pound....."Go Pound Sand" and for that matter I recall people pounding drinks but I am thinking this crowd aren't those people.

Cheryl Houston said...

Margaret? Margaret? Pound some drinks??? :)

Tera,

A Dine by Design with your staff is a great idea. Philanthrophy and creativity all at once. What's better than that?!?!?

I want to thank Brian and Tera and go on the record for saying... No one, I mean NO one has ever told me I don't speak loudly enough.

Today is a first and if you don't mind I'm going to sign off and bask in the beauty of it all.

Claudia said...

Yes, yes by the way. Margaret, Matt, and Richard would get along swimmingly.

Cheryl Houston said...

It's probably me that they can't hear because the louder I get the squeaker I get.

Margaret does not have audio said...

Sorry?? But do I have to listen to know what the Pound thing means?? I am too scared to listen at my desk at work...

Yea me for thinking of the "Surprise Me" button!! I found it on, surprise, a beauty and makeup blog...

Margaret,

My friend Angie is having a wedding shower for a friend of hers. It's called a Pounding. Everyone brings all the ingredients for a recipe. Angie wanted to put a clever saying on her apron... My Friends Gave me a Pounding...

Matt and Richard are going to pound some drinks. You are the Happy Hour Queen that loves college Football. Greg is a lucky man. I'm just saying!

Margaret is Perfect, ha ha said...

You forgot to mention, I listen to Sports Radio, I went to Nascar and the Indy Race...

I got to Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's... willingly.

And... well, that just about says it all.
