Happy Hunting

For some of us, today is our first day back to work after a long weekend.

What better way to start the week than with a health dose of SHINE?!?!

It seems we are in good company. The Secret Society of Happy People declared this week, Seventh Annual Hunt for Happiness Week. As is the case with happy people who shine, they are no slackers. Click here to check out their website.

But, do more than check out their website.

Commit right here, right now.

Commit that this week you will do something in pursuit of happiness.

Write in a journal * splurge on a treat * flip through a fun magazine * get your blood pumping * introduce yourself to someone new * pay a compliment, make a coffee date * take a walk with a loved one * day dream, fill your house with the smell of chocolate chip cookies * do a favor for someone, flip through old photographs * reconnect with an old friend * send a package, de-clutter your home * meet your postman, learn something new about yourself * name your year(!) * find some quiet time * do something daring * write a letter to someone you would like to meet * check something off your to-do list * tell your family you love them * swing on a swing * color in a coloring book * find shapes in the clouds * play a board game * pamper your feet * listen to a favorite CD * Print the word, "Shine" somewhere in sidewalk chalk...

What will you do?
Signing off until tomorrow...

How about FREE mochas? On Wednesdays through the end of February - McDonald's is offering free mochas. http://www.more4momsbuck.com/

I'm going to spin class today followed by Costco - I know that churros at Costco for the kids will make them happy.

Have a great day everyone!

Spread the happiness...now that is something I can get behind.
I can't wait to see what I can do to make someone else smile this week.

Here's to a free mocha at McDonalds. Thanks for the tip Cristine.

The first thing I am going to do to find happiness this morning is begin my morning with my Starbucks ritual and then spend some time planning Pola's going away dinner tonight!

The sun is Shining here in Illinois, that brings me happiness.

One thing for happy hunting... I am going to the post office and sending my MIL 10 creative greeting birthday cards so she can mail them off to her friends.

And I'm making homemade meatballs to bake for a delicious mom's kitchen spaghetti dinner tonight.

That's it so far :0)

Hunt for Happiness Week. I already do some of your suggestions. I am loving this Texas weather. I know my life is so good.

I am happy. :)

I am going to hit the gym, enjoy the lovely weather by walking with my husband and read a book. I am already happier just thinking about it. I will probably splurge by eating dessert too...

I am going to have a date night with my 7 year old son and have him help me create a "box of happy" to send to the kids of a family friend who was just diagnosed with terminal cancer...this was a huge shock because she is an avid runner and even ran the boston marathon...her kids are 4 and 6 and although they dont know yet...I want to send them some items to help them create great memories with their mom...

Oh my gosh, Holly! What a sad situation. A box of shine is the perfect thing to present to the family,

I am saddened by the situation, but love that you are responding with a thoughtful and hopeful act of kindness.

Today I am hunting out the happy by doing all the things that I've said I was going to do for far too long now, but haven't done. #1 on the list is going to sign up for service hours at the nursery at the local high school. It's been way too long since I've volunteered there! #2 on the list is a shopping trip to wander the aisles of Target and get myself a small treat!
