Psst... Whack This!

Your Turn!

We racked our brains trying to come up with the perfect Whack on the Side of the Head for Ray's birthday week.  Whack on the Side of the Head, for our newcomers, is the day of the week we challenge our creativity by forcing ourselves to think outside the box.  Our ideas were either too predictable, too self-serving, or not celebratory enough.

After some whacking of each other on the side of the side of the head, Heather, Cheryl, Katie, and I settled on using this Wednesday to let
you...

Name that Ray.

While it is true, we usually develop the idea for Ray first and then the design, today we're going in reverse.

Above is our latest and greatest Ray design, inspired from a photo straight from the album of someone we all know and love.  Combine our design with your creativity and give Ray the most clever name you can come up with.

Enter a name today AND tune back in tomorrow and you automatically receive a special patch (for your patchwork denim) to commemorate Ray's birthday week.  Don't know what patchwork is?  Click here to find out.

But, should you out-perform your fellow readers in  this two-day event (today and tomorrow), you will be the recipient of a patch AND a prize that's sure to shine!

Let 'er rip.

Signing off until tomorrow...

P.S.  Yesterday's winning design...

I'll have to let this one simmer for a while before I throw out an idea for Ray...but I love the design.

"Raylaxin' on the River" If you were only in TX I'd say GuadaluRAY (instead of Guadalupe). Right now, I agree with Cassie... late night, early morning... the search for coffee begins!

Row row row your RAYft,
gently down the stream,
meRAYly, meRAYly, meRAYly, meRAYly,
life is but a dream!

(sorry i haven't been commenting lately, just got back from the dominican republic a couple days ago and i'm still getting used to real life!)

Yes, anonymous... As Cheryl said, you are cRAYnky these days, but I still give you points for playing the Ray game.

OverRAYted doesn't shine, but it is a darn good attempt. And, on some other, less positive, less fun, blogs it would earn you a gold star.

Keep on whacking. I know you have it in you!

GardenGal said...

I am "jumping in" and posting my very first comment to the "stream". Since I spent 4 years at TX State in SanMarcos, we spent all our free time on the San Marcos River. Students that did so were called "River Rats" so my entry is....."RAYver Rat"!

Claudia said...

Actually, anonymous... the more I think about it, the more it occurs to me that you're kind of like Ray! A little snarky, but fun, and in the game right along with us!

See, we all have a little Ray in us. Embrace it and stop Raysisting.

Garden Gal... Welcome and what a great first contribution! Love it. Tune in tomorrow and maybe you can cinch the deal.

You know what is funny, this morning I literally was wacked on the side of the head...by my dryer door. And I have the knot to prove it! Ouch. Going to drink some coffee to get the creative juices flowing...

I wish I was as clever as all of you. There are some good ones out there. All I could come up with was "Soaking it up...one RAY at a time".

Have a good day. I'm off to find bed spaces for 40 male students...but all of our spaces are occupied. Should be a fun time!
