Sharing Saturday

Can you hear me galloping in? Howdy, y'all! Cheryl here to wrap up our week. Whew! Sorry I'm late this morning!

Congratulations to the California Golden Girls and the Texas Tidbits for their victories in our very own Highlowaha March Madness. Be sure to join us on Monday for the Finals. In honor of Women's History Month we each shared a creative woman that has influenced our life. It was great fun getting to know them. Today we will wrap up our last day of Cowgirls Ride the Trail of Truth, a fun game that has a deck of cards with probing questions about Sex & Body, History & Experience, Family & Friends, Spirit, Shadow, and Taste. We've had a fun month sharing the game with you and expanding our knowledge of each other.

If you're new today, Heather, Claudia and Katie have discussed how you can use the game in many settings. Any women's group, family gathering, baby shower, wedding shower, girl's night out and the list goes on. Any time you want to learn more about the women around you, this game will help your new or old friends and family to share life experiences and beliefs. Have a party, mail the cards out, start a note on Facebook or start you're own email survey to share with your girlfriends. Whatever your preference, fun is sure to be had.

I can't help but wonder, would the questions work with men, too?

Here are the questions on my card:
* When did I experience “love at first sight”?
* Tell something about my hobby.
* How was my relationship five years ago? How is it now?
* Tell one thing about my future.
* How do I waste time?
* Am I a shopper? What do I buy?

Since this journey began, I'll be driving down the road and the Brooks and Dunn's song will come on the radio and I can't help but to think of our own Ride on the Trail of Truth. No matter where you are on your journey as long as you are part of our journey here at Highlowaha know you have someone that cares.

Happy Trails!

Signing of until Monday... and the finals of March Madness.

1 I experienced infatuation at first sight, but never love.
2 Hmmm...my biggest hobby is raising babies and coming up with creative schoolwork for them:)
3 Relationship with? Hubby I take it? We were still considered newlyweds 5 years ago. Now we're settled in so we can bring up the things that annoy us, but we've also settled into the comfortable realm. We've experienced so much together now that we're closer than we could have imagined.
4 My future- near future-twins! Far-I'd like to get back into adoption social work
5 I waste time on facebook, email, watching cartoons with the kiddos
6 I like to shop when I have money to spend. The last few years that has mainly meant grocery shopping and sale shopping. I LOVE a good sale!

* When did I experience “love at first sight”? Never. Lust maybe. Infatuation maybe but never love

* Tell something about my hobby. Drawing- I wish I did it more.

* How was my relationship five years ago? How is it now? Five years ago I had been divorced about a year. And now, well, not much has changed. Still single. It's all good.

* Tell one thing about my future. I have no idea what the future brings except growth and change.

* How do I waste time? Oh boy! This should be up in the Hobby question... computer, reading, listening to music and in the summer- in or by the pool! I can't wait!!

* Am I a shopper? What do I buy? OH YEAH!! This also could be in the Hobby question. Mostly shop for clothes and shoes but things for the home and art supplies are up there, too!

Hi everyone! It's been a full Saturday. Dinner soon and then hopefully settling in for a relaxing Saturday evening.

Love at first sight? No.

Something about my hobby? I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old, so I don't really feel like I have very many hobbies right now. There are a long list of things I used to love doing, including reading, writing letters, sending packages, playing tennis, going to movies, playing board games (Scrabble) and baking. I still read, rarely write letters or send packages. Occasionally we go to a movie and just in the past month have we played a few games of Scrabble.

Relationship with my husband 5 years ago and now? Five years ago (pre little kids)... so much more calm, relaxing, and quiet. Today? Good and not without a little bit of work (on both of our parts) every day. If we didn't work at it, an entire day could pass with only 30-40 minutes of "quiet time" to catch up with one another. Everyone assures me the boys will eventually become less time consuming, so we can reclaim so of the free time we had to talk about things we love, sit on our patio, and yes... maybe even play golf together! Richard is fun, energetic, and interesting, so I love his company.

One thing about my future? I worry about my parents. They are older and I know the inevitable is going to happen. I am not ready for it and I spend a lot of wasted worrying and being sad. If you tuned in last Wednesday, it will makes sense to you when I say both my parents have lived a remarkable dash.

How do I waste time? I honestly don't have time to waste a bunch of time, but the time I do waste is spent watching American Idol, Iron Chef America, and trying to figure out computer related things, because I have so little skill/knowledge.

Am I a shopper? I don't like the physical act of shopping, but I enjoy getting a new item as much as the next girl. It just means I "destination shop" (know where I am going, go, and leave right away). The things I like to buy most? Books and package-making supplies.

Nice job today, Cheryl. I had fun listening to the song.

Okay so it is 7:35 on Sunday and Lily has just laid down to sleep. Needless to say my late appearance should go to show that the Snow family had a fun filled weekend around town. We had Saturday brunch, then headed to Sam's Club then to a local mall where we spent the afternoon shopping and letting play in the greatest indoor play area for toddlers. By the time we got home we had a cranky toddler and my night was toast. Today we headed out fairly early and went to the Ft. Worth Museum of Science and History and then stopped at DSW shoes and Central Market...then it was home to play outside for a little while and grill out for dinner...yummy. So a fun filled weekend indeed.
Now on to my questions:
* When did I experience “love at first sight”? The instant I saw Lily.
* Tell something about my hobby.
I haven't had the chance to practice my hobby in ages but I love colorguard and dance and would love the chance to teach again.
* How was my relationship five years ago? How is it now? Bal and I were recently engaged (March 17, 2004) now we have been married 4 years and have a beautiful little almost 2 year old.
* Tell one thing about my future. travel more, hopefully get a house in the next year
* How do I waste time? reality tv
* Am I a shopper? What do I buy? I love going to stores but I am don't actually enjoy buying things because that means spending money. The only time I actually enjoy purchasing is when I get a killer bargain.
